Session Description

This PASIC Panel Discussion will be a chance for the PASIC attendees to get a “behind the scenes” “real world” - "All Judge Access" look-see into the brain of several Professional Percussion Judges.

We will explore the educational and cultural backgrounds of individuals and how those differences help or hinder their ability to be a highly sought-after Percussion Judge.

All participating Judges with varied backgrounds will share sampling techniques, Judge electronic assist tools, tried and true tricks of the trade as well as how one can formulate a path to becoming a Professional Percussion Judge in the Marching Arts. We will cover the use of Competition Suite and other numbers management programs that Judges use to assist with adjudication. Cover how over the years technology has made adjudication easy or how technology can be problematic.

We also will have the panel discuss maintaining professionalism in Judging, how we strive to make sure the personal brand does not overpower the job you do for the students. How to foster a great relationship with show sponsors, and being expedient with correspondence and having a great tone in your email to Sponsors, Travel Agents, Booster members and Judge Coordinators.
