    Guard Representative

    Nathan Alvarez is a native of Gulfport, MS where he graduated from Harrison Central High School. In the HCHS Band Program he was a trumpet player, Drum Major, member of the indoor percussion ensemble Paragon, as well as, a member of the winterguard program Korkoma. After graduating high school, he continued his 15 year tenure with the Harrison Central High School Colorguard Program as an instructor, choreographer, assistant director, and in his last years with the program, the director of the colorguard and winterguard programs His passion for colorguard also led him to perform 3 years with Banderas Independent, based out of Pensacola, and 1 year with W3 Performance Ensemble, based out of Gulfport, MS, and Paradigm Independent World for half a season. Throughout the years, Nathan has also served as a choreographer, technician, consultant and show/staging designer for many colorguard and winterguard programs, clinics and camps across Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia and Florida that consistently earn superior ratings, best in class awards, GCGPC and LMCGPC championship medals and sweepstakes awards, WGI Regional Scholastic A Finalists, WGI Regional Scholastic A Champions, WGI Word Championships Scholastic A Semi-Finalists and WGI World Championship Scholastic A Finalists. In 2004, Nathan was apart of the colorguard instructional staff for the Spirit Camp Clinics based out of Marietta, GA and in 2009, the Colorguard Director for the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Band of Gold. Nathan is one of the founders and directors of Xcelsior Independent Open Winterguard and served as an instructor, choreographer and assistant designer for the University of South Alabama in Mobile, AL. He has served On the Board of Directors for the Gulf Coast Colorguard and Percussion Circuit, as well as, a GCGPC 2x Hall of Fame member. Nathan graduated from Tulane University with a Bachelor of Arts in Media Arts and Human Resources and has been a career civilian service federal employee for 20+ years. Currently living in Daphne, AL with his husband and 2 precious pets, he is currently one of the Directors of the Daphne High School Colorguard, where he started assisting the program in 2014.
